The Republic s2

When + where: Sundays at 8pm on Mzansi Magic

The Tshedza Pictures political thriller-drama returned for a new season this past Sunday. Season 1 followed an attempted coup and the kidnapping of president Mulaudzi, and this season is the aftermath, but things aren’t any better – the country is still on fire, without power, battling unemployment and hunger, and corruption still thrives. Both Masasa Mbangeni and Florence Masebe reprise their leading roles, and they’re joined by Bonnie Mbuli and Bongile Mantsai.

Mzali Wam s2

When + where: Mondays at 8pm on Mzansi Magic

The trafficking drama’s new season kicked off on Monday. Now that Ntokozo and Joyce, mother and daughter, are finally reunited, does this spell happily ever after? We think not.

Makoti… Are You the One?

When + where: Fridays at 8.30pm on 1Magic

You know how sometimes you don’t know the family you’re marrying into until you actually marry into them? This new reality show is about that, except you get to know your in-laws before you marry their son. The practice of ukukotiza is brought forward when women move in with their potential mothers-in-law to see if this is the family they want to tie themselves to. And what if the mom-in-law doesn’t approve – will her beloved son choose her wisdom over his own love? Drama!

When + where: Fridays at 9.30pm on 1Magic

The new show from the acclaimed Burnt Onion Productions follows Sharon (Phuti Khomo) whose wedding day is entangled in drama after her ex shows up and turns everything upside down. This romcom drama isn’t just about love gone left – it’s about life in your 30s and what it means to take control of your life. It also stars Vuyo Dabula, Vuyo Ngcukana and Pearl Modiadie.

I Blew It s4

When + where: Saturdays at 8.30pm on Mzansi Wethu

The ever-popular reality show about people who came into a sh*t-ton of money and then lost it just as quickly is back. This season includes a stage performer who lost it all, a boxer who lost tens of millions to many things including a nasty divorce, and a man who came into sudden millions twice – and lost it both times. Phew!

Strangers You Know s2

When + where: Sundays at 8pm on M-Net

Season 2 of the gripping true crime docu-series is back with four new episodes, and they are all high-profile cases: the murders of Karabo Mokoena, Jayde Panayiotou and Anene Booysen, and Henri van Breda’s killing spree.

Euphoria s2

When + where: Dropping weekly on Showmax, Express from the US

Season 2 of the acclaimed and award-winning HBO drama is finally here! If the trailer is anything to go by, we’re in for another rollercoaster emotional ride, with a little bit more crime thrown in too.

When + where: Saturdays at 9pm on Mzansi Wethu

This new reality show is about mending sibling (blood or chosen) relationships that have deteriorated to such a state that they negatively affect others, too. It sounds like it might be an emotional one.

Men of Action pop-up channel
